It may seem a long way off, however the site is booked and the date is set, so now it is over to you. Without excuses, make it your first priority, put the date in your diary, imprint it in your minds and if necessary start saving.

The date is AUGUST 31st to September 2nd 2007.

This Convention will be even more special than previous ones because it will also be the celebration of 35 years of Marriage Encounter in England and Wales. That first Weekend took place in December 1972, so think how much we have to celebrate and rejoice over in all those years.

Remember what your original Weekend did for you, how it changed your lives, how it introduced you to like-minded people with similar values and ideals. Think of all the friends you have made, and perhaps have yet to make, and how wonderful it will be to together to share this celebration.

The Convention will be held at the Hayes Conference Centre at Swanwick in Derbyshire, as have the last two. This time however there are superb new state of the art conference facilities 'The Derbyshire Suite', a sports hall and new meeting rooms.

What is more and perhaps just as important we have booked the whole site, we will not be sharing the facilities with any other groups providing we have sufficient confirmed bookings by September 2006, that is next September.

We can take only 400 people so please hurry with your booking, do not procrastinate, leave it till the last moment or think about it nearer the date.

What can you do?

• Keep that date free; keep it your number one priority.

• Join the 100 club to help offset the costs of events (we plan some surprises) and children's activities.

• Start saving; we'll let you have cost details soon.

• Invite everyone you can think of who has experienced a weekend.

• Most importantly please pray for the success of this convention and that God will grant us many blessings as we journey to the 2007 convention weekend.

We, Harry and Muff Wilde, have the honour and pleasure of leading the Convention Core this time. We are both excited and apprehensive as we begin the preparations. We will let you have more details as soon as we are able to and hope to keep you all informed of progress in each issue of Spirit.
